I wouldn't disagree here in principle, except that I'm not convinced
memelessness is a_necessary_condition for that eureka moment. I tend to
find my best insights (which, sure, may not amount to much) come at periods
of intense intellectual activity, like when I'm trying to write a conference
paper and am struggling for time, and I'm trying to collate lots of ideas
into some kind of cohesive whole and my notes are all over the place-
suddenly I'll get going on it, and something takes shape (I'm in the middle
of something like this at the moment, although it's not taking shape, so I'm
beginning to stress a bit!). having said this, I do sometimes get them just
as I'm about to go to sleep, or on the toilet like many other people (sorry,
    was that too much information?).
