The term I couldn't remember of Bourdieu's here was, I believe, symbolic
capital, but as to the original works in which he expounded this theory I
don't remember. I've just had a quick look at the Uni library's collection
of Bourdieu's work but nothing leaps out at me, save perhaps 'Language and
Symbolic Power' or 'The Field of Cultural Production'. Sorry about this, I
heard the concept in an undergrad lecture years ago, it stuck in my mind and
I bought a 'key sociologist' textbook on Bourdieu ages ago, but haven't got
it lying about to check the original sources.
