As I understand it, and my understanding is admittedly weak, to be called
a liberal once more meant relying upon standard values, but, it may well
be that an early _party_ called Liberals (or Conservatives) had more
diametricity to what we now know.
At any rate, it is my understanding that the two terms meant other things
in the past, but, well, as I edge out of the room with my head held low,
I only really meant to offer that words change....
