    Hi Nathan,

This one little snippet in your interesting post caught my eye. Just last
night I was thinking how grateful I am to live in this "corporate culture"
    that
has afforded me a computer (word processor, e-mail, Internet & laser printer)
with online dictionaries, Britannica, etc. that has made it possible for me
to begin using my brain for topics that go beyond kitsch.

By way of explanation, because of my autism, myopia and ADD, the "old"
conventional methods of intellectual study ranged from impractical to
impossible. The PC has changed all that.

I further thought that I would gladly pay $100,000 for this PC, etc.
which gives me endless pleasure --total cost under $2,000. I would gladly
pay $50,000 for the color TV and VCR which provide information and
relaxation. This "dog-eat-dog" corporate culture has produced all of these
goodies and countless more; I really lucked out, still being alive to enjoy
    them.

If Bill Gates derives pleasure from his billions, I don't believe that he
    enjoys
life any more than I do. So Bill, more power to you, keep producing better
and better software. For a disk that costs Microsoft several million dollars
to develop, I'll buy one for under $100! What a deal!

    Best wishes,
    Len Jayson, a fellow lurker.
