    Are you sure about that? I first came across it on the net, but then I
    was an "early adopter", reading my first newsgroup in 1986. And the net
    goes back a few years beyond that. Did you really encounter RTFM that
    long ago?

    I'm downloading the Hacker's Jargon File as I type, which is bound to
    have RTFM in it.
