Ah, you've removed the eraser... How empirically analytical of you... ;-)
We are talking, though, (I think we are, I am...), about a _function_ of
that graphite- (we are talking about the consciousness of a thing)- the
fact that it makes a mark upon a surface (the fact that a thing considers
itself an entity)- not about the mere fact that it is part of the whole.
All of the pencil does not make this mark.
