The problem is there are no gods--yet! Sentient machines of the
self-improving variety are likely to qualify though.
One of the approaches to sentient machines is to blindly reproduce a human
brain and upload it with a human mind. That approach scares me because
humans seem to have behavior switches (for memes) that are activated when
we have over stressed the environment and anticipate a bleak future.
Accidently having that activated in a powerful AI is not a happy prospect.
