Actually, my media focus is more in the tradition of Medium Theory (e.g. McLuhan, Levinson, Meyrowitz). That is, I plan to look more at the evolution of different media forms, especially focusing on the development of language, print and the internet. My idea is that, with inspiration from memetics’ evolution concepts, you can improve on Medium Theory’s understanding of the development mechanisms in the history of media forms.

Along the way, as I dig into the memetic world, I will gladly try to increase my activity on this list.

Thanks for this, Mogens. I don't know anything about the ENAR, which originated the report but, as you say, maybe from its perspective Jyllands-Posten does look far-right.

It strikes me that media history is a prime target for a cultural evolutionary approach. Last year I read a couple of books about the Britsh media (Andrew Marr's "My Trade: A Short History of British Journalism", and Piers Morgan's "The Insider") and it struck me then that media history and the development of media stories might helpfully be characterized as memetic. I'd be interested to hear more when your research gets going.
