<<Our own Richard Brodie appeared on Oprah before, which probably helped his
book, plus gave memetics some popular exposure. I can't recall Brodie's book
grabbing me emotionally though, but it had some interesting intellectual
points. I digress.>>
I think the most popular work on memetics is Neal Stephenson's _Snow Crash_,
a work of fiction. After writing _Virus of the Mind_, although I did my best
to pepper it with memetic tricks, I realized fiction is more effective. I
simultaneously realized I didn't really want people to understand how to
design mind viruses all that much.
I actually have about 200 pages of a novel written but it's on a virtual
back shelf while I improve my poker game.
