I got to thinking about this. While the original Greek words making up
xenophobia are stranger-fear, the dictionary gives the meaning of the word
as "fear or hatred of strangers, people from other countries, or of
anything that is strange or foreign."
My use of "xenophobic memes" has more of the hatred flavor to it.
Hate is what you need to fire up the warriors to kill or be killed. Fear
would be less effective.
