I think we are all familiar with tunes that stuck in our heads. James J.
Kellaris, PhD, of the University of Cincinnati, calls these tunes
'Earworms'. What makes an earworm stick in your head? Kellaris points to
three factors: repetition of a phrase, musical simplicity, and an incongruity.
