    It is recognizeable as the selfsame meme when instructions can be faithfully followed (transmission/reception occurring via encoding meaning within the action/perception connections that people may make), but there are also opportunities for mutation and selection; thus, memes may evolve. Intentional mutation and selection occurs internally, when modifying a received meaning before subsequent transmission, and when deciding whether to accept or reject a received meaning.
