Where, physically, are memes when they are not being performed?

    Dope. From what I've read that isn't clearly agreed on among the proponents of Performance. I'm going to go with your statement on the issue as it is definate.

    I'm not sure I understand this. Let's say that there are 100 performances of "It's a Small World" in the world simultaneously. I'll agree that they aren't 'the same' performance, but aren't they performances of the same thing? Don't the performances contain the same memes? Isn't that an example of a 'thing being two places at once?'

    What I'm still looking for is an explict answer to the question:
