    Have you thought about Egypt, Greece, Rome and the barbarian tribes of Europe? I think it was more common for agrarian societies than for nomadic tribes, although the capture of women for wives seems more common among nomads. The Bedouin are famous (at least in story and song) for capturing wives. Any civilization that held slaves usually took them by force. That means just about every civilization up to modern times and also includes some of them.
