    ...except that it's rancorous to itself as it never really finds its way into public discourse.

    i mean, if 100 people are bashing the right and nobody hears it, does the right get bashed?

    there is no doubt bashing goes on from both sides, though one side is the dominant hegemony with regards to economic, political, social and media power...and the other side is only trotted out when the dominant regime needs a scapegoat.
