    Perhaps that's because they seldom replicate. They merely approximate. They pass information from one person to another but the information seldom approaches the kind of exactitude that DNA passes. The only kind of meme that approaches this is language, and even that is iffy. The same string of words can carry any number of meanings and be used in any number of ways.
