The US has already had an unpleasant situation unleashed upon it, and
is taking every action it can countenance in order to avoid more severe
and more frequent reiterations of that situation. It will not feed an
alligator wishing to dine upon it first; Europe has another motive for
feeding the alligator; so it will eat them last. But the appetite of this
alligator is insatiable, and, sooner or later, it will turn its all-devouring
intentions upon the Europeans, too.
