How refreshing to see this from another! I've maintained this stance
continually, fighting each 'Bush won by cheating' statement with 'Bush
didn't win it by any circumstance, Gore lost the damn election all by
himself!', but no-one wanted to agree with me....

This is the nature of political machines, and why -

This is exactly the sentiment expressed here in MA where yet another
republican governor was elected to preside over a ridiculously
predominant democratic structure too ingrained to be called a machine,
but rather almost a fortress of life here.

It was confusing, but I think the byline for the MD story was not hers,
but LIZETTE ALVAREZ. Same critique would apply, of course.
