I get several of these a week. This is such a problem that the Canadian
government has a special task force to combat it. Last time they busted a
ring of the criminals using this scam hundreds of people had been taken for
an average of several hundred thousand each. A lot of the victims would
not cooperate with the police because they were so embarrassed.
Hard to believe I know.
If you want to send them to the authorities, try here. (wafl is west
African fraud letters)
This is not the kind of meme like the "get rich quick" chain letter that
naive people get infected with. The perpetrators of this scam are highly
organized criminal fraud rings.
