Actually the World League of American Football has been going, on
and off, for quite a few years now. To my mind it's still a game for wusses
compared to rugby. Witness yesterday's European Cup match between Llanelli
and Leicester, where at one point two 6 feet, 18 stone plus men cracked
heads, without helmets mind, whilst running at each other full pelt. They
just got up and carried on, with the mighty Leicester Tigers winning in the
end.
Regarding baseball, if you don't like the game you could always
recognise the British interpretation of its origins (i.e. we invented it-
it's based on a game called rounders), and thus blame it on us. A friend
of mine who's a big fan of Am Football, calls baseball "cricket with
statistics".
