    As an addendum, doing another index driving pre-flipping, Gould says some
    stuff regarding Durkheim that is directly relevant to the difference between
    historic origin and current utility (a contrast possibily lacking in
    Durkheim's work on division of labor?), citing someone named Catton
    (apparently as a secondary source on Durkheim). The plot thickens...
