Hi Steve Drew -

There's a film by Kurosawa that he made in Russia where a man who lived
all his life on the tundra, after saving the life of a soldier, is taken
back to the soldier's city to live with him and his family. He could not.
In 'Walkabout' the aborigine kills himself when the civilization he's
approaching becomes obvious.
Finding food is only part of it.

Finding all the instantiations of 'resistance is futile' is perhaps as
daunting a task as the taxonomy of boy bands.... The Borg said it, the
Vogons said it, the Daleks said it, I think Ming said it in the Buster
Crabbe Flash Gordons.... Was it also part of Plan 9 from Outer Space?
I didn't come back because I missed it.... But, I don't know. Jurassic
Park?
