I always thought Kitaro was the ubermensch of new-age, though Tangerine
Dream and Vangelis weren't all that bad. Never got into Yanni.
It seems like a lot of the high-energy techno-rave stuff has picked up on
the new-age computeresque synthesizer feel, while sticking to the
hip-hoppish rhythms and edits. From what I gather raves are a hot-bed of
X-usage which isn't a good thing. Some of the music ain't all that bad and I
suppose the same can be said of the experimental acid inspired music of the
older generations. Early Pink Floyd was really *out there* as was Syd
Barrett.
