    Those people who study it would not say that. It seems to me that the child does
    NOT leave behind intuitive physics, he just extends it. My hunch is that even
    her correction is informed by intuitive physics. AND, they have also found out
    that even physicists who know all about motion continue to make what are
    elementary mistakes in their field when presented with certain types of problems
    that involve intuitive physics. The same for logicians. See examples in Pinker's
    How the Mind Works.

    Don't forget that this stuff is very hard to study, and part of the reason is
    that the hardest stuff to get at is too obvious to notice.
