It's not one meme here. For you, what has survived is the meme not
to smoke and the hook from the meme of Winstons. The Winston's hook could
be said to have survived, and you just passed it on to us all, as a meme
in itself, but it is inactive as a hook meme for you and for me.

An additional meme that spread with help from this jingle inolves the
grammatical demise of "as" to introduce a verb phrase. As you recall, the
rest of the jingle was "like a cigarette should." This was conciously
designed to tap into a rebellious predisposition that is highly correlated
with teenage cigarette smoking. In the year 2000, there are precious few
people under the age of 30 who use "as" to introduce a verb phrase.
