I joined this list with such excitement. Too bad it was uncalled for.
I had hoped to find interesting conversation about memes and their
philosophical implications, pshychological manifestations, things having
to do with the minds memes supposedly inhabit. Instead I find bickering
over terminology, picking at semantics, and a great deal of conversation
that requires a college degree in some sort of biology to find useful or
Since I joined the list, I have seen three honest attempts at starting
threads that are, how shall I say, more interesting to the genetic
layman. They have all been ignored.
Such a pity, I think they would have led to interesting conversation.
I'll probably stick around for a little while longer, but I imagine that
the narrow focus of this mailing list will bore me quite soon. ah, well.
