Recently I had alludud to some ingenious ways that runaway slaves had found
their way north. One story that sticks out is that of Henry "Box" Brown who
was "mailed" northward to freedom in a cargo box.
Well a recent news event has some parallels where a guy named Charles
McKinley shipped himself to his parents to save money. Use "Charles
McKinley" as a search on googlenews.
BET has this article which compares and contrasts the stories of Henry "Box"
Brown and Charles McKinley:
or put Henry Box Brown in as a search string in googlenews.
