Settle down, Scott. The only problem here is the hysterical over-reaction that following my critique of Israel, which, by the way, was one of numerous recent posts intended to demonstrate a point I'm trying to make about memetics. The hysteria started with Joe (who nicely proved my point that criticism of Israel triggers the anti-Semitic charge) and then swept up you and Jake. I'd like to add that there was no provocation whatsoever of this hysterical interlude.

Also, as the moderator's recent post didn't make it to the digest for some reason, I'd like to re-post it here to make sure everyone has a chance to read it:

FROM MODERATOR: this is not a list about Islam! From: Bruce Edmonds ( Date: Tue 17 Jun 2003 - 16:11:45 GMT

Please keep on topic. I will not give any more warnings - I will simply throw people off if they swamp the list with other stuff. Each person has a responsibility to moderate their own posts - regardless of whether others' posts are provoking.

    You have been warned.
