For Scott's edification, Isaac Asimov was actually a fabulously prolific polymath. Aside from publishing hundreds of sci-fi novels and dozens of popular science books, plus as I recall a history of the Jewish faith, his day job was Professor of Biochemistry at Boston University. He died in 1992 at the age of 72, and his stories had a lot to do with my developing interests in cybernetics as I was growing up.

On a bad day, Asimov probably had more ideas than many of us manage in a lifetime. Some of his concepts have been truly memetic in nature; e.g., the Three Laws of Robotics as well as psychohistory. If you want to know about the Laws of Robotics, try As of tonight there are 2,630 hits.
