If I remember correctly, she was effectively blind for a short period of
time. You can probably get more information on this on the PBS URL under
Alan Alda's Scientific American series. I can't remember the name of this
segment, but it was the last one I saw and came out in the last month or so.
Scientific American's URL should also have some reference to the experiments and who conducted them.
