I would like to call your attention on three new, serious and innovative
journals. They can be good outlet for unconventional papers in economics and
other social sciences. Let them live!
JOURNAL OF EVOLUTIONARY MODELLING AND ECONOMIC DYNAMICS
is an electronic journal in evolutionary economics, industrial and innovation
dynamics. Similarly to JASSS, it wants to focus on simulations. Its editor,
Murat Yildizoglu, wrote on the use of neural nets to reconstruct the
recognition of innovations. The first issue is there.
MIND & SOCIETY
is an interdisciplinary journal that aims at connecting the cognitive and the
social sciences to one another. Its editor is a sociologist (Riccardo Viale),
its assistant editor is an economist (Salvatore Rizzello). Mind & Society
focuses on theoretical papers where formalization should be kept at a minimum.
The first three issues have been already published.
COMPUTATIONAL MANAGEMENT SCIENCE
is devoted to the application of simulation techniques to the practice of
management. They are issuing a call for papers for the first issue. CMS is
based at Eindhoven Technical University.
