"Virtual Creatures" by Karl Sims

I just saw an excellent movie on Virtual Creatures developed by Karl Sims
at Thinking Machines - the creatures made of simple blocks evolve there
to walk, swim, and fight for resources. Their locomotion looks very
impressive, recognizable, and funny.

You can get a small MPEG version of this movie and a description of
