Hi all:
Thought this might be of interest: a print outlet for work in memetics!
Best wishes,

* CALL FOR PAPERS: NEW JOURNAL
***************************************************************************
Selection: Molecules, Genes, Memes
Editor-in-Chief: E=F6rs Szathm=E1ry
Aims and Scope
Selection is an international journal that publishes original research paper=
s,
review articles, comments, short communications and book reviews on all aspe=
cts
(theoretical and empirical) of the selection of replicators. Priority is giv=
en
to three main topics: (i) chemical (natural and artificial) replicators; (ii=
)
classical genetic replicators (such as genes); and (iii) culturally replicat=
ing
traits (memes). The journal welcomes papers on in vitro selection, replicato=
r
dynamics, and cultural evolution, whenever a case for selection is made.
Reviews should be concise, lively and up-to-date. These articles, sometimes
invited from leading researchers in a specific field, summarize and assess
recent and important developments. A special form of review is a target
article: following submission and the usual review process, these papers are
sent out for open peer commentary, and the authors are then invited to
respond.
The target article, the comments and the response are all published together=
...
Thus target papers should be especially stimulating. All papers are
peer-reviewed. Symposium proceedings and thematic special issues may be
published upon prior consultation with the Editor-in-Chief. Advertisements f=
or
meetings may occasionally be published free of charge.
The composition of the international Editorial Board reflects the journal's
intention to become essential reading for all those interested in selection =
in
different systems at various levels.

Submission of manuscripts
Submissions are accepted on the understanding that they have not been publis=
hed
or submitted for publication elsewhere and that they are subject to peer
review. Papers accepted for publication by the Editorial Board are subject t=
o
editorial revision. A copy of the Publishing agreement will be sent to autho=
rs
of papers accepted for publication. Manuscripts will be processed only after
receiving the signed copy of the agreement.
Selection prefers electronic submission of manuscripts. Manuscripts should b=
e
send as attachment by e-mail in word file to the following e-mail address:
selection@zeus.colbud.hu
Submission of manuscripts by mail (on paper or on disc) is also possible. In
that case manuscripts (threefold in case of paper) should be send to:
Prof. E=F6rs Szathm=E1ry
Editor-in-Chief
Collegium Budapest
Szenth=E1roms=E1g u. 2
H-1014 Budapest, Hungary
Manuscripts should be accompanied by a contact telephone, fax number and
e-mail address.
Presentation of manuscripts
Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct
English. In case of a submission on paper, manuscripts should be
typewritten in double spacing throughout on one side of A4 paper, with wide
margins.
Manuscripts submitted by non-native should preferably be corrected by a nati=
ve
English speaker prior to submission.
Title. The title should be clear and concise in not more than 15 words.
This is followed by the authors=92 initials and surname, and the name of the
institution
where the work was done. The mailing address, e-mail address and fax number =
of
the corresponding author must also be given in a footnote to the first page.=
A
short running title of not more than 50 character should also be supplied.
Abstract. Should not exceed 200 words.
Keywords. Should not exceed 10 words.
It is at the author=92s discretion to use the following format, which is how=
ever
recommended for empirical studies:
Introduction. All papers should begin with an introduction that describes wh=
y
the work is important and end with a discussion of the significance of the
results and their relation to other work.
Material and methods. This section should contain sufficient detail so that =
all
the procedures can be repeated (in conjunction with cited references).
Results. The results-section should present the experiments that support the
conclusion to be drawn later in the discussion.
Discussion. The discussion session can be used to propose the interpretation=
of
their results, and to suggest what they might mean in a wider context. It
should end with a clear statement of the main conclusions of the research, a=
nd
a clear explanation of their importance and relevance.
Acknowledgements. Should be brief.
References. References to papers up to two persons in the text should be in
full, e.g. (Able & Charles, 1886). If the number of authors exceeds two, the=
y
should always be abbreviated thus: (James et al., 1986a, b). References shou=
ld
be listed in chronological order in the text, e.g. (Low et al., 1986; Able e=
t
al., 1997). At the end of the paper, references should be listed in alphabet=
ical
order. Names and initials of all authors, year of publication, full titles o=
f
papers and books, the abbreviated names of journals, volumes and inclusive
pagination should be provided. Examples of reference style are given below.

Tables. Tables should be cited consecutively in the text and numbered with
Arabic numerals. In case of paper submission, each table should be titled an=
d
typed double spaced on a separate sheet. Horizontal lines in tables should b=
e
restricted to three: one line above title, one line under title, and one lin=
e
under the table. Vertical lines should be avoided as much as possible.
