tsk tsk Wade, breaking the rules! you have been boxed end of story no
comments allowed! you are forever an identity seeker! :-) how would you like
your t-shirts printed?
How about "I SEEK IDENTITY" on the front and "CAN I BORROW YOURS?" on the
back?
ah a better one -- "I AM WORTHLESS, PLEASE MAKE ME PRICELESS"? (close to
mine, see below)
the identity seekers seek a *relationship* with 'god'. The sensation seekers
seek to be 'god'.
identity seekers favour hallucinagens, sensation seekers favour
psychotropics (cocaine, amphetamines)
umm what else?... neurotic rather than psychotic, psychosis manifests the
mind of a child and to start with that is sensation seeking (in most).
The mind of the child/psychotic is single context and it is always their
context. Adult/neurotic has a dual mind, multi context -- get depressed
rather than schizzy.
My usual background is more fear based -- problem solver, offshoot of
sensation seeker; build boundaries and then expand outwards with 'novel'
ideas that can shine light on 'out there' but written in an obscure way --
avarice is an influence and that includes ones own ideas, fun wrestling with
it all, part want to keep it 'in' and part want to let it out!
In that sense the problem solver is a variation on the identity seeker, the
t-shirt should read "I AM WORTHLESS, I WILL MAKE ME PRICELESS". Note the
difference in the source of making, 'in here' centered rather than 'out
there' centered. (in this sense I am closer to psychosis than neurosis...
:-))
In Jungean psychology the idea is to (a) experience all aspects of ones
being and then (b) let context determine which aspect to use -- very
genotype/phenotype dont you think?
But note that it is also very 'wavey' in that the persona is a virtual wave,
a superposition of all of those threads of character and the only way to
create a superposition is through waves and that leads to chemistry and that
leads to complexity, emergence, resonance and that leads to memes. So there
IS something going on, so hang around!
best,
Chris.
