:-)
One of the fundamental differences in 'types' of people is that of those who
favour "what was/is/will be" (WILL-BE group) compared to those who favour
"what could have been/is NOT/could be" (COULD-BE group). In general these
patterns reflect two approaches to the past/present/future concept.
The COULD-BE group would find some value in the LP due to the attraction to
what is BEHIND the sounds, there is a degree of wonder involved.
Your comments suggest you favour the more was/is/will be perspective in that
getting no direct meaning from the expression, no clear identification, you
felt it all meaningless and so dropped further considerations; it was not
worthy of further consideration.
The advantage of such a perspective is that it allows for quick decisions
when processing data, the disadvantage is you can be caught out in that too
quick a dismissal can lead you to consider something of value as valueless
and that could cause problems later on.
BTW the whale song is now often sold as part of meditation tapes etc again
attractive to the COULD-BE crowd but also allowing for a 'what is' approach
in that it is the sound that is concentrated on regardless of the question
of source; the song has become a sort of auditory mantra...back to the world
of resonance :-)
best,
Chris.
