Warning: Pedant attack!!!

Jake:
genetic determinism (which is
currently the general position within sociobiology)

Pedant:
Actually you're a bit behind the times there Jake. I'd say the current
general position in 'sociobiology' is a Chomskian 'environment acquisition'
via a hypothesised innate 'cultural organ', as elaborated by Steven Pinker.
Indeed the word sociobiology has been replaced by the currently much
trendier 'evolutionary psychology'.
