;-) I will see if I can dig up the ref and give you the details. Analysis of
the patterns in the details may tell us something about the methods used to
sell the homeopathy idea.

If I recall the essence is usually a sample of the thing that made you sick
in the first place -- works on the 'like cures like' concept, notice there
is a 'purity' emphasis here in that nothing else other than that that did
the damage can cure the damage; there is a thought pattern at work that can
be attractive just as other 'purity' emphasising disciplines/groups etc
attract followers.
