The Sunday Times has run a story on a Bonobo using a speech synthesizer to
converse with humans. The Bonobo, Panbanisha, was taught a keyboard which
allows her to communicate much like Steven Hawking. She has a vocabulary
of 3000 words. Panbanisha, now 14, has recently started writing words.
The work is onging at Georgia State University's language research center
in Atlanta.
