Here's a friendly tip to those who respond to a digest post: Your words are
more likely to be read if you copy the original subject line from the
segment of the digest to which you are responding. Many people view their
email in threaded format, and will miss your post completely if they are
trying to follow a thread such as "RE: Papers critical of memetics." Also,
those who read by way of the web archive in threaded form will likewise
miss your posting, which will appear far away on the page with no hint that
your posting was ever made. If a newcomer to the digest list leaves the "RE
Memetics Digest #nnn" in the subject, you and your readers are still better
off restoring the original subject line.
