I've booked a roomful of undergraduates in 2 weeks time to repeat the
classic Cavalli-Sforza (1982, Science 218, 19-27) cultural transmission
experiment. My theory (sticking my neck out) is that because most of my
students come from one-parent families the vertical transmission
correlation co-efficients will be substantially weaker than in Cavalli's
1982 cohort of well-heeled bi-parental Stanford undergrads.
ho, ho! I'll let you all know what happens.
