OK folks. Let's not start a flame war.
While I find the discussion of "feminist" issues intersting, this thread
has gone way beyond the A: the original intent of the thread, and
B:beyond the supposed scope of this mailing list.
There are clearly a number of different views held about what feminism
means. duh. While Steves version of the feminist is dying out in
popularity, they do STILL exist. There are women out there that feel
that they are superior, and that all men are rapists and chauvanists.
They're not as vocal about it as they used to be, or they're fewer,
whatever....they don't seem to be the majority as far as feminism goes
anymore.
On the other hand. I thought some of the points Steve brought up were
interesting...one them being the selective service. I, as a male, must
register. Women do not. That's stupid. Back when the law was
made...women weren't allowed into the service. Now that they've fought
for the right to go to war, they should get all that it entails. That's
fair if you ask me.
I could go on, but like I said, I think it's beyond the scope what this
mailing list is about. Now, if we were to talk about how the various
feministic memes went from here to there, that would be on topic. But
we're not.
If you want to argue about who's a bigger idiot, can we do it privately?
