It is certainly true that Vygotsky held such an opinion. But I don't recall him
saying anything that could be construed as meaning that our words for, e.g.,
could actually affect how we see color. That's not the sort of issue that
interested him. He was interested in the way words give us the ability to direct
our perceptual systems here and there in the world.
