You had brought up the notion that replication requires more than code
alone. It needs processor and membranes, etc. When we talk about
computer code replication (system analogy), we talk about CPU's
(processors), circuit boards (membranes) and code. Most people talking
about computer systems also talk about 'clock speed' (rhythm).

I was just trying to keep an important element of the system among the
terms mentioned. One never talks about computer performance or evolution
without keeping keeping an eye on 'clock speed.' In the same way, we
need to consider the clocks involved in memetic replication.
