Whilst sympathising and agreeing your offer of off list one-on-one this
list is to the meme meme roughly the equivalent of an orgy; a wonderful
soup in which to try replicating.

When you say

>I, for one, have noticed that many of these discussions become dialogues=
,
and this must be very
frustrating to people new to the group. <

I observe a high degree of dialogue [in the sense of dia logos knowledge
through] rather even when it is also duologue. The discussion meme share
the etymological roots of concussion and percussion and I sense less of
that happening than on many lists I know.

Largely for the fun of it.
